Species: Human
Transformed Species: N/A
Starfleet Division: Engineering
Canon/OC/Canon AU/Canon OC/CRAU: Star Wars
Personality:
As the daughter of two major heroes of the Rebellion, Jaina was born special, and not just because she was force sensitive. Jaina is much like her mother, Leia Organa, she is bold, brave and loyal to her chosen cause. It has been said that Jaina has a way of making people nervous, much like how her father Han Solo was imposing in his skill and demeanor. She is brilliant as a pilot, with natural instincts in the cockpit, and her use of the force and the connection she has with the world around her lends to her strength. But while she is firmly planted in the light side of the Force, she is also Vader’s granddaughter, and has brushed the dark side. She is easily frustrated, sometimes can be quite fiery and opinionated, but quick thinking and excellent at strategy. At the beginning of the war she wasn’t as hard or grim as some of the pilots she flew with and was often criticized for not being serious enough. That changed when Anakin died and Jacen vanished, leading to a sincere rage directed toward the Yuuzhan Vong. This manifested in her taking on the cloak of the Yuuzhan Vong Trickster Goddess, Yun Harla, and she tricked and manipulated her enemies into traps sometimes quite recklessly and at great risk to herself and others. Though she did not ultimately fall to her anger, she finished the war with a more hardened psyche. Her intelligence and fierceness leads to her being named ‘Sword of the Jedi’ during her knighting ceremony.
Appearance: Willa Holland
History: Jaina Solo Through Yuuzhan Vong War
Abilities:
The Force is a living, fluid energy found in all things. Those who are Force sensitive, like Jaina, can feel and manipulate this energy in order to perform various tasks. One of these is movement. The Force can be used to lift, throw, pull, or push objects, people or animals. The force can also be used to enhance certain movements by the user, such as leaping higher or further or moving faster. Jaina may also draw upon the energy of the Force in order to boost her strength if she is weakening or may enter a ‘healing trance’ which draws upon the Force to accelerate healing. The force enables Jaina to expand her awareness in order to sense emotional changes and danger. Jaina is also skilled with a blade, most specifically her lightsaber, the signature weapon of the jedi. She is also a skilled Pilot, having flown with the famed Rogue Squadron multiple times. She is seen as one of the greatest pilots in her time. She is also very skilled at repairing and building ships and droids.

The Force
The Force is what gives a Jedi or Sith her power. It is an energy force that surrounds all living things and binds the galaxy together. The force may guide the actions of an individual, but it can also be controlled by those who are force sensitive. Much about the Force is unknown, but various species have their own unique understanding of it. Among the various understandings, is the light side of the Force and the dark side of the Force, the Unifying Force and the Living Force. The first two are primarily concerned with the morality of the Force, manifested by the actions and emotions of the living beings who are the very fabric of the Force. The Unifying Force is a philosophy embracing time and space, while the Living Force focused on the living energy of beings. Those who are Force Sensitive can feel the movement of the Force because of Midi-chlorians. Midi-chlorians are intelligent, microscopic life forms that live symbiotically within the cells of all living things, in fact without them, life would not be able to exist. These Midi-Chlorians, when present in high numbers, are what enable a person to detect and use the Force. Those who can use the force tend to live far longer than those who are not force sensitive and also tend to stay active beyond what their age would normally allow.
The Jedi
For over a thousand generations, the Jedi were the guardians of peace in the Galaxy. Jedi study and follow the Light side of the force. The Jedi path was one of patience and and wisdom, followed by action only if necessary. A Jedi trusts the force and seeks to use wisdom, logic, patience, listening, negotiation, persuasion and calming techniques to solve a problem, with fighting as a last resort. The life of a Jedi was sacrifice, based upon self-discipline, responsibility and public service valued above all, while rejecting materialism and conquering emotions. During the time of the Galactic Republic, Jedi were forbidden to hold strong attachments, because such attachments could lead to negative emotions which lead to the Dark side, but when Luke Skywalker rebuilt the Jedi Order, the old rules on attachments were discarded. Young Jedi in training are known as Padawans and are apprenticed to a Jedi Knight or Jedi Master, the rank above Knight. The Jedi Council, comprised of the Jedi Masters, the governing body of the Jedi order, works with government entities and is overseen by the Jedi Grandmaster. Though the Jedi may aid in peace making and negotiation for government entities, they are not a part of any government, operating as free agents. Their main concern is peace and balance. The Jedi believed that through study and contemplation, they could reach a oneness with the force, allowing them to use it as an extension of themselves. They also believed that the force should be used for healing and defense, but some disagreed.
The Sith
Unlike the Jedi, who focused on understanding the force, the Sith believed in dominating the Force. The Sith serve the dark side of the force, using it merely as a powerful tool and not seeking to understand it. The Sith believed that conflict was the measure of one’s ability and strength, and so conflict between individuals was encouraged. Without conflict, life would grow stagnant and fall into decline, plus, conflict separated the strong from the weak. Young Sith were taught to seize opportunities for power and advancement, often fighting each other to gain the respect of their elders. The Sith often waged war against the Jedi, leading to many major conflicts throughout the history of the Galaxy. The basis of a Sith’s power is emotion and while the Jedi believed that negative emotions were to be overcome, the Sith believed in embracing these emotions because it gave them more power. After a time, the infighting between sith became extreme and the Rule of Two was initiated by Darth Bane. The Rule of Two was based on the idea that only two Sith could be in existence at a time, a Master and an Apprentice, and the knowledge that there had once been Sith tribes was soon lost to history.
The Rise of the Empire
A long, long time ago, in a Galaxy far, far away, a young man, named Anakin Skywalker was discovered on the planet of Tatooine by Obi-wan Kenobi and his master Qui-gon Jin. Anakin was strong in the force, and as he grew, it soon became evident that he was meant for great things. He fell in love with Senator Amidala, a strong and independent woman, and due to the Jedi belief that attachments are a weakness, they married in secret, keeping their love hidden from the Jedi Council. The memory of his mother, whom he had left behind in slavery, weighed on him and her death turned him from the Light and led him down the path to darkness. Even then, his love for Amidala and his unborn children might have brought him back, but in a fit of rage and confusion, Anakin accidently injured her. Believing that he had killed his only love, and badly injured in a fight with Obi-Wan, Anakin turned to the Sith Lord Palpatine and the Dark side of the force. As Darth Vader, he destroyed the Jedi and aided Palpatine in creating the Empire. Unbeknownst to Darth Vader, Amidala lived long enough to give birth to twins, whom she named Luke and Leia.
The Rebellion:
With bureaucracy dissolved and the Galactic Republic fallen, regional leaders in the galaxy had direct control of their territories. The Empire believed that “Fear” of the Deathstar, a weapon capable of destroying planets, would keep the local systems in line, but some , including Leia, who had been raised by Bail Organa and Queen Breha of the planet Alderaan, resisted the control of the empire and formed the Rebel Alliance to combat the Empire’s forces. With the aid of some Bothan spies, Princess Leia was able to obtain a set of plans to the Death Star, though she was captured soon after by Darth Vader. Angered by the interference of the Princess and the Rebels in their plans, Grand Admiral Tarkin destroyed Leia’s peaceful home planet of Alderaan as a demonstration to the Galaxy of their power. Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Han Solo managed to rescue Princess Leia, though Obi-Wan Kenobi became one with the Force during battle with Darth Vader. With the plans to the Death Star in hand,Princess Leia, Luke and Han raced to Yavin 4, an inhabitable jungle moon orbiting the gas giant Yavin, where the current rebel base was hidden. But the Imperial forces tracked the Millenium Falcon, Han’s ship, to the base and prepared to destroy the moon using the powerful Death Star. A small weakness was found in the Death Star’s design and, despite heavy losses, the rebels managed to destroy it. It was the first major victory for the rebels. Over the course of many battles, Han and Leia fell in love, but it wasn’t until after until the fall of the Empire, while hunting for a new home for the Alderaan survivors, that they truly realized its existence. Leia and Han had three children, Jacen and Jaina, the twins, and Anakin. It was during their childhood that the galaxy recovered from ruinous reign of Palpatine and his cohorts. Leia worked in reforming the government while Luke re-established the Jedi tradition and created a new Jedi Academy. The Galaxy seemed at peace, with the Empire restrained and the New Republic working together to solve the remaining problems.
The Yuuzhan Vong War
The invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong, a warring race from far beyond the known galaxy, threw the fragile peace into chaos. The fearsome invaders destroyed machinery, believing it to be a blasphemy to their gods. They terraformed each conquered planet, trying to remake the land into the image of their homeworld. The Yuuzhan Vong targeted the Jedi as the largest threat and sought to eliminate them. The war waged with the Alliance taking heavy losses, but in the end the Jedi and Allied forces prevailed, though the scars of the war can still be seen upon the planets taken and upon the people who fought in it. It was the events of this war that began the fall of Jacen Solo to the dark side. Jaina too struggled with the dark side after her brother Anakin’s death and Jacen’s capture by the enemy. With the aid of Kyp Durran, she was able to overcome her darkness and chose the Light side of the Force.
